I love Patons wool!

I have been knitting since I was five and am now in my early eighties. I always used to use Patons wool because of its high quality and excellent knitting results. However it went off the market and I have used another brand 8 ply crepe wool consistently for the last 20 years. Lately, the quality has really deteriorated with a tendency to split and also it seems thinner and does not look anything like the finish I gained in the past. My knitting pace is constantly slowed down because I am always on the lookout to correct the split stitches. So I knew that I had to buy a better quality wool and pay a little more for it. When I saw Crafty Frog was selling Patons and it was still Australian made, I was keen to buy some to knit a sweater as a birthday gift for my 12 year old grandson. The firm, thick stability of a Patons 8 ply garment would be well worth the extra outlay. Online it's a little bit harder to get the exact colour you have in mind and this colour is a little bit on the greyish, darker green side, rather than the brighter one I had in mind, but now I am halfway up the front of the pattern and it looks such quality, with firm and even stitches....and the colour is looking much more attractive. Also, a few nights ago I saw a well known TV identity in a handknit of the same colour (and probably Patons wool!) .....so I was reassured that it was 'in fashion' and teenage grandson is sure to like it. So I am back knitting with Patons wool!

I love the vibrant colour of this wool. It is adding a zing to mu current project. Great quality. Would highly recommend.
