Jewel Baby Blanket 5004

The Jewel Blanket is an easy knitting project.  It uses a technique called shadow knitting to create an illusion of blocks of colours when in fact it is worked in 2-row stripes with offset garter ridges.
It is knitted in one piece (except for the side borders), beginning with the bottom border.  The borders are worked in garter stitch and shaped to form mitred corners.  The side borders are picked up and knitted out.  The mitred corners are flat-seamed to create a neat finish.

The pattern stitch can be worked from the chart or the written instructions.

There are two style options:  one using five colours and using three colours
