Whatever you call it, Indian Elephant or Asian Elephant, it's all the same to me. This highly intelligent, easily trained mammal is used for transport and heavy work in India, Burma, Thailand and Malaysia. It is smaller than it's African relative, and has smaller ears as well. It grows to a height of about ten feet and weighs up to four tonnes.
When a baby elephant is born, a female elephant helps the mother until she and her newborn are ready to re-join the herd.
